Anchorites is a 3D animated film rooted in the mystification of material -- a narrative where ontology is murky, and the divide between the physical and digital is hushed.
All assets of the film were built outside of the computer as painting, found objects and hand-made sculpture, then photogrammetrically scanned and repurposed in virtual space. It is within this space that the characters of this world enact their roles with a religious zeal, moving in procession through endless levels and halls: perhaps only some witnessing it as simulation.
